I loved creating this piece with collage and the pen work on top. It’s a very effective way of displaying different fresh orange foods.

This piece was inspired by the real Kurofune Bridge that I saw on one of my exploratory walks when we still lived in the Kiyosumi area. I liked the canal scene but decided to change the look of the bridge to something more traditional. The ZiG Mangaka pens come in a variety of tip sizes and feature smudge-proof ink, which allows them to be used with watercolors or alcohol-based markers. I really enjoyed working with these brush pens, I was surprised how vibrant the colours were. It was a joy to try these out in my usual watercolor-like style.

I enjoy the texture and application of both ZIG CLEAN COLOR Real Brush and ZIG Art & Graphic Twin!! I especially like the moments I draw gradations and shades of colors. I use a Black 4B pencil for the main lines this time, but also love the soft texture of Art & Graphic Twin for a line drawing.

I’ve never used water-based dye brushes before so it’s been a real challenge but also so much fun! I love the large variety of colors of the ZIG CLEAN COLOR brushes and all the cool effects you can achieve when you add water, it feels like a really unique product.
